War with Iran
I'm having a queasy feeling of deja vu; once again, the alternately cretinous and criminal Bush junta is making noises about WMDs and war. It seems to me we know how that will end.
ThinkProgress reports that there is outright rebellion on the Joint Chiefs because deranged wingnuts - in Congress, the Pentagon and the White House - want to use nuclear weapons against Iran.
Wapo similarly reports - on the front page of its print edition, no less - that war preparations are moving into high gear.
Needless to say, the IAEA (which was right about Saddam's alleged weapons, lest we forget) says that there is no way the Iranians will have a weapon for the rest of this decade.
We've seen this before; it's 'wag the dog' with nukes. Knd of like 2002, only this time, with infinitely higher stakes. I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if this is a right wing ploy to keep Congress.
Does anybody in wingnuttia have any idea what a cataclysm that would unleash? More to the point, do they care?
