What Abramoff is doing for the R party

Is now the time to mention that, while the Democratic Party has been around since the founding - give or take a decade, and with kudos to Thomas Jefferson - the Rs are the third iteration of a right-wing grouping, preceded by the Federalists and the Whigs? Both of whom collapsed?

Time for history to repeat itself for the fourth time, and rid the country of this irritation.

[Update: in a shameless riff on Fitzmas, Wonkette declares a new holiday: Abramoffukah. Quote:
