And let me start with a shout-out to Bitching Jen, possibly the most dimwitted, obnoxious blogger out there. In a recent post, she expresses puzzlement about a lesbian who dared to sue a fertility clinic that had refused to do business with her because she was a god-damn dyke.

For Bitching Jen, this is just another prompt to break out into the kind of aggrieved, pseudo-pious whining so prevalent on the right. Damn dykes getting uppity! No reeespeckt fer KKKreestiaans like her - why can't we just treat those people the same way we used to treat Sambo, huh?

Here's why your arguments aren't flying with normal people, Jen: because you used them the last few times around. A few decades ago - and in some parts of the country, where they think and vote like you do, to this day - it was perfectly fine to say that you couldn't force a white shopkeeper to accept the custom of a black customer. In the same way, apropos of the gay marriage debate, we've heard all the crap about 'sacred institutions' and whatever bullshit you pull out of your ass back when you people were trying to keep women from voting. Same deal, different century - the crap from the right doesn't change, not does the outcome.
