Vice cops out

It's just so easy to hate Dick Cheney. He's unctuous, toad-like, with a scowl perpetually frozen on his parchment visage. Far from being the pleasant granddaddy we all thought we saw back during the 2000 debate, he turned out to be the (pacemaker-assisted) hateful heart of darkness of the right wing.

In short, he's Gollum in a suit, mumbling about WMDs.

Interestingly enough, Cheney is presently front and center in the administration's PR offensive, the objective of which is to prevent the perception that the Bush regime lied us into war from solidifying. For that, yes, they dragged him out of the bunker. His current target is Congressman Murtha, a Democrat who has a total of 37 more years in the Marine Corps under his belt than the entire R leadership combined.

Or perhaps I should say was, because Cheney was forced into retreat by public outrage over his attacks on somebody who actually served; by contrast, as is well-known, Dick Cheney is a draft-dodger with five Vietnam deferments.

Plus, as Trinity Church informs, he is, indeed, a douchebag.
