One down, thousands more to go

Ha!

Yet another corrupt R sleazebag, values gasbag and self-proclaimed war hero Randy Cunningham, admitted in court to bribery, corruption, and the abuse of his public trust for illegal personal gain. What was that about 'values' and 'restoring honor and dignity'?

It's a good start, but hundreds more R House Members, Senators, state legislators, governors, op-ed writers, TV talking heads, Supreme Court Justices and certainly the denizens of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue still remain at large. It's time for radical, cataclysmic change - we can't afford these R 'values' any more.

[Update: US News reports that the widening Justice Department/FBI probe of Jack Abramoff's little friends is now looking at at least a dozen R Congresspimps and Senators.

U.S. News has learned that the conduct of at least a dozen representatives and senators is now being scrutinized by a small army of federal prosecutors and FBI agents. According to sources familiar with the inquiry, a federal task force, which includes investigators from the Interior Department--which has authority to regulate Indian reservations--is examining the relationships between lawmakers and Scanlon and Abramoff. A key question is whether the lawmakers took official actions after receiving campaign contributions, free trips, or other gifts from the lobbyists, the sources say.]
